Submission Period

11 October 2024 - 17 December 2024

Award Categories

There are 8 categories for the awards. Each project must be designated for any of the following categories with the appropriate sub-group indicated (if any).

Implementation

Project must be completed between October 2021 - September 2024.
  1. Residential - MCST / Strata / Condominium / Private Property
  2. Non-Residential - Commercial / Industrial / Institutional
  3. Public and Urban Spaces - Public / Industrial Parks / Public Open Spaces / Town Council / Streetscape / Nature Reserves

Maintenance*

Projects, including the DLP period, must be completed before March 2024 and then maintained for at least 6 months after the DLP period ends, by September 2024.

*Gold-winning project in the Maintenance category of LIAS Awards 2021 will be eligible if it's currently maintained by a different contractor for a period of 6 months or more before September 2024.

Project must be completed between October 2021 - September 2024.

Green Wall

Project must be completed between October 2021 - September 2024.
  1. 100 sqm and below
  2. 101 sqm - 300 sqm
  3. 301 sqm and above

Overseas

Photo slideshow or Video presentation.

Minimum 3 visible features which matches the judging criteria to be eligible for submission.

Open

For developer/owner.
Project must be completed between October 2021 to September 2024.

The Committee reserves the rights to make amendments / cancellations of any category due to lack of participants or any unforeseen circumstances.

Only live plants used in the projects submitted under the respective categories shall be considered for judging. Dried or artificial plants used in these projects shall be excluded from judging.

Registration Fee for each Project Entry Submitted

Non-refundable fees will be charged for each entry submitted. Participants may submit as many entries as they wish for each or different categories.

Entry Requirements & Format

  1. Registration and submission will be via our online portal.
Participants are required to fill in the submission details via the online portal.
  2. Use the “LIAS Awards 2025 Submission Template.pptx” for project presentations. The presentation should detail the project with photos (maximum 15 images), plans, or drawings, accompanied by descriptions elaborating on the judging criteria provided. The final PowerPoint file must not exceed 50 MB.
  3. Upon submission of the registration form, a unique registration code will be issued to each participating company for every entry submitted.
  4. All pictures, plan drawings, and photos used in the PowerPoint presentation shall be submitted separately. Each image should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi and not exceed 5 MB per file.
  5. No logos or company names should appear in any of the PowerPoint submissions. Company or organisation names should only be indicated on the registration forms. Please specify the category for which the entry is being submitted in both the presentations and registration forms.
  6. Entries may be submitted by any LIAS members or non-members at different submission fee scales. Members may not submit projects on behalf of non-member organisations to take advantage of members’ entry fee scales.
  7. All submissions, including all images and photographs, will remain the property of LIAS and will not be returned to participants. LIAS reserves the right to use any or all contents of submitted entries for its collateral, publications, or promotional materials without incurring any obligations whatsoever.

  • • Overall layout: creativity, spatial awareness, harmony of design to the surrounding landscape
  • • Attention to safety standards of play equipment and surfacing
  • • Overall finish quality and workmanship
  • • Quality of maintenance and upkeep

“Green Walls” are part of a building envelope system, comprising pre-vegetated or planted onsite panels containing plants, growing medium or liquid nutrient installed in or on a frame, secured to a structural wall or it can be free standing.

“Green Façade” such as training structure that supports vines or climbing plants growing upward from the ground away from the building, is not eligible for the competition.

  • • Plant selection: choice of plants and medium, cost effectiveness, plant species diversity & contribution to faunal biodiversity, sustainability of plants, environmental sustainability
  • • Maintenance: ease of access and safety consideration, standards of maintenance, replacement & serviceability of panels, plants and irrigation system
  • • Environmental sustainability & benefits: obvious cooling, sound, dust abatement, any other ecological contributions

Special Recognition Opportunities
Additional bonus points will be awarded in the areas of inclusivity (Design & Build), sustainability (Maintenance, Design & Build, Green Wall, Overseas, Open), and arboriculture practices (Maintenance). Projects with the highest bonus points in these respective areas may be given a special mention for their efforts in promoting inclusivity, adopting sustainable practices, or demonstrating exceptional arboriculture standards.

Judging Process

A qualified panel of judges will be selected from individuals and professionals involved in or related to the field of landscape, design, architecture, horticulture, floriculture and environment & property / facility management. Participants will be informed by mail of the judges’ decision.

Preliminary Judging: Shortlisting

A panel of 4 judges will score each entry based on the descriptive information and PowerPoint presentations submitted. Entries must score a minimum of 75% to be shortlisted for final judging round.


Preliminary Round date: Mid February 2025

Final Round: On-Site Judging

A panel of 4 judges will visit the shortlisted project sites to assess the quality, design, and maintenance of the work in person. It is crucial that the site remains accessible for the judges at the scheduled time. Failure to provide access to the site may result in disqualification from the competition.

Final Round date: End March 2025

Recognition of Awards

There will be an award ceremony to commemorate and showcase winning entries at the LIAS Awards Gala Dinner. The evening comprises a dinner and an exhibition featuring the works of winning entries.

Winners will be invited to receive their awards during the LIAS Awards Gala Dinner to be held later in the year. In addition, participating entries will also be featured in the LIAS website and published in the LIAS Awards 2025 Magazine. 

Awards

For each category, there are 4 levels of awards to be presented. Each entry will be given the award based on the total score earned. There may be more than one recipient presented for each level in each category:

Merit

50 to 59

The judging panel is under no obligation to award prizes if no entries are deemed deserving of awards at any level in any category. However, merit prizes may be presented in some deserving cases. In the event of any disputes, the judging panel's decision will be final.
